Grosse Pointe Club
Junior Sailing Program

                                                               "First in Class"

Mission Statement
The mission of The Grosse Pointe Club Junior Sailing Program is to provide a safe, fun and empowering learning environment in which to develop the skills required for sailing; to promote personal growth and independence within the sport, to achieve proficient levels in boat handling and maintenance, and to develop decision making skills, while encouraging sportsmanship, leadership and team work in rigging, launching and sailing together on lake St. Clair.

Our fleet of Optis and 420s make our program unique within the sailing community. Furthermore, our protected harbor provides a safe and welcoming environment for even the youngest of aspiring sailors.

Our exceptional instructors provide a disciplined but fun environment for our sailors and have helped many of our participants achieve success within the Detroit Regional Yacht-Racing Association.
